Keith Urban shows no signs of slowing down. He just celebrated his 15th No. 1 hit with current single “Little Bit of Everything,” his new album Fuse is due for release Tuesday (September 10), and he just announced his next single “We Were Us” featuring Miranda Lambert. The new song will hit radio on release day.
Radio.com recently spoke with Urban about his new album, and why he decided should Lambert share the mic with him. “We Were Us” was written by Jimmy Robbins, Nicolle Galyon and Jon Nite, and Urban said choosing Lambert to sing on the track was a no-brainer.

“I just love Miranda’s voice. I love her artistry. We did some shows together many years ago. She got up and did a song with me each night and I loved our voices together,” he said.

Urban explained that in the back of his mind, he has always hoped that he would find a song that they could duet on together. “‘We Were Us’ came along and it’s not the kind of song Miranda would normally do, but her voice is the first one I heard in my head,” he said. “I called her up and sent her the song and she loved it and came to the studio. Blake came along as well and hung out for the day. Miranda and I went in and sang the song and I’m just so happy at the way it turned out.”

“We Were Us” tells the story of two former flames looking back on their lost love. Lambert and Urban share the chorus and the nostalgia.

“Back when that song was a song/ I could sing along without thinking’ ’bout you every time it came on/ Every beat, every line, every word, every time/ When a road was a road/ I could roll on through without wishin’ that empty seat was you/ Money was gas, dreams were dust/ Love was fast and we were us,” they sing. Listen to a preview.

I have finally put up our new site and gallery layouts made by the wonderful Nicki at Pink Retro Designs. I love how both of them turned out and I love both shoots used! There are still a few tweaks that need to be worked out, and a few new things that need to be added and updated, but I’ll get to them at another time. Until then I hope all of you love the new layouts as much as I do!

Hello everyone! As you can see we have been gone for quite a bit. Once again I have been plagued with computer problems. I apologize for the lack of updates. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will be able to start updating again, and get the site and gallery up to date with all that were missed. That would include screencaps from the All Kinds Of Kinds music video that was released earlier this month. There will also be a new site and gallery layout put up, so stay tuned for that, I’m really excited for all of you to see it.

Willie Nelson’s To All the Girls, a collection of duets with Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and other female artists, will be released Sept. 24 by Legacy Recordings. Underwood and Nelson reprise “Always on My Mind,” his hit that spent two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s country songs chart in 1982. He collaborates with Lambert on “She Was No Good for Me.” Although the album doesn’t place a strong emphasis on Nelson’s past hits, the tracks include “Bloody Mary Morning” with Wynonna. Other collaborations on the 18-track album feature Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, Alison Krauss, Mavis Staples, Norah Jones, Shelby Lynne, Emmylou Harris and Brandi Carlile, among others. Recorded primarily in Nashville, To All the Girls is Nelson’s second album to be released this year. Let’s Face the Music and Dance was released in April to coincide with his 80th birthday.

The CMA Songwriters Series returned to the Royale nightclub in Boston last night (July 11) and it brought country music royalty with it.

For the third year in a row, Boston fans were treated to a big star in a small venue as reigning Country Music Association Female Vocalist Miranda Lambert joined up-and-comer Kip Moore and award-winning songwriters Brett James and series host Bob DiPiero for a thrilling, two-hour writers’ round.

It was a relaxed affair featuring both big hits and deep cuts, tall tales and true stories, belly laughs and heartfelt tears. Brett talked about writing two No. 1 songs with Kenny Chesney—“Out Last Night” and “Reality”—in one session. Kip told an uproarious tale about a female fan calling out a ribald request at an inopportune moment during a performance of “Hey Pretty Girl.” And host Bob got the whole northern crowd singing along to “Southern Voice.”

Miranda may have been the night’s biggest star, but she was clearly thrilled to be part of the gang. She needled the boys, joked that she was going to get everyone’s autograph after the show and happily sang harmony vocals for her fellow writers. She was especially excited when she realized that Bob was going to sing one of her favorites that he had written. “Are you going to sing Diamond Rio?” she asked. “’Cause I’m going to crap my pants.” She then cheerfully raised her voice on “Mirror Mirror.”

Miranda also performed a handful of her own songs, including “Love Is Looking for You,” an early track close to her heart, and an emotional take on her CMA award winner “Over You.” She said it meant a lot to her to be recognized for that song and to be included in a show like this. “It was always my goal and dream as a songwriter to win Song of the Year for anything,” she said. “I love being an artist and touring and all that, but I love songwriting and that’s what I’m going to do until the day I die.”

On Thursday night, Miranda Lambert halted a show in Boston to playfully address reports suggesting she was pregnant, gay and heading for a divorce.

The country star, who is married to Blake Shelton, has been combating tabloid gossip about her private life for months, and during her appearance at the CMA Songwriters Series she decided to let fans know exactly what was true and what wasn’t.

The 29 year-old singer told the crowd, “For the record, I’m not pregnant – I’m drinking – and I’m not getting divorced. And I’m not gay, because I think (fellow country star) Kip Moore’s cute, and Blake knows about it.”

And she revealed to the audience that her song Famous in a Small Town has taken on a new meaning now that she and superstar Shelton have set up home in rural Oklahoma.

She added, “I’ve been pregnant, having twins, we’ve been separated, I’m drunk and alone, pregnant again, then we’re having twins again, and now we’re getting divorced. I can’t even name the stuff. It’s funny because I realize this song means even more to me now because I’m in the tabloids every week for being famous for something I didn’t even do, than for something I want to be famous for, which is playing my damn guitar and writing a song.”

And she assured fans she won’t be getting pregnant anytime soon: “Everybody’s having babies right now and it’s freaking me out. Blake’s in L.A. and I’m real glad; it’s like a million miles away from here. Get that thing away from me! Something’s in the water. No way. I have dogs. A lot of dogs.”
