Miranda’s Speech From The Clive Davis Gala

Miranda was one of many to give a small speech last night at Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy Gala, trying to offer comfort to her musical peers. As all of you may know by now Whitney Houston passed away yesterday evening. Miranda performed Baggage Claim and The House That Built Me, this was her speech last night after she sang:

“I know that it’s been kind of weird tonight with everything. I’ve had a lot of loss in my life the last four weeks. Now I understand what it’s like to lose someone you are so close with….I also know that the celebration of music is important because that’s how we heal, through music. And I hope I can help you all heal with my tiny little part here at the Clive Davis party. I am a country girl at heart but I do have a little R&B and soul in me and a little bit of booty.”
