Pistol Annies have abruptly canceled all of their concerts that were scheduled for June, leaving Miranda Lambert to fill in as a solo act at the upcoming shows.
The trio released their second album, ‘Annie Up,’ in May and were expected to tour in support of it, mingling the dates between Lambert’s solo appearances and Ashley Monroe’s promotional efforts for her recent solo album ‘Like a Rose.’ Lambert performed solo at the Winstock Festival on June 7, where the group were scheduled, and will perform solo at the Country Stampede on June 30.
According to Keepin’ It Country, the only explanation provided to the promoter of the Winstock Festival was an email that read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pistol Annies are unable to appear on any dates in June but Miranda Lambert will perform instead.”
The trio were expected to perform at last week’s CMT Awards, but did not. Lambert and Monroe both attended the awards show, and both appeared separately at events during the CMA Music Festival. Angaleena Presley was not photographed at either the CMT Awards or during CMA Music Festival. According to a tweet from Sirius XM’s The Highway, Monroe has confirmed that the trio are still friends and will continue to make music together.
The trio’s website offers no further information. The Events section simply reads, “There are no events at this time.”

“Making music for our fans is the best job in the world,” Lambert said. “It’s especially great being able to take to that music on the road with someone I respect as an artist and human being. This will be a tour of ‘epic badassery.’”
Bentley added, “Some of my favorite times on tour over the years were with Miranda and her crew. We have a lot in common musically and our fans do, too. It’s going to be a killer year.”

Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and other country stars have signed up for the inaugural Watershed Music Festival outside Seattle.
The new three-day festival will be held Aug. 3-5 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash.
A news release announcing the festival says tickets go on sale May 5 and are limited to 25,000. Fans will be able to camp out and late-night sets are scheduled.
The Watershed joins a growing number of multi-day country music festivals around the nation and is the first at the venue, which hosts the annual Sasquatch Music Festival.
Other stars scheduled to perform include Kix Brooks, Sara Evans, Dwight Yoakam, Uncle Kracker, Brantley Gilbert and Thompson Square. More performers will be announced at a later date.
As The Boot first reported earlier this month, the Pistol Annies have joined member Miranda Lambert on her On Fire tour. Their first appearance will be tonight (April 26) in Fresno, Calif. Tour guests Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young will continue their stints on the journey, as well.
“We have chemistry as friends, we have chemistry on stage, and we have chemistry in our writing,” Miranda says about her Pistol Annies cohorts, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe. “It’s one of my favorite times during my show because I get to step into a different role.”
The time could prove to be twice as productive as the girls prepare to record their sophomore album. “Our goal on this next record is to write everything in our family, just the three of us girls again,” Miranda tells The Boot. “The new album will be what you expect: three country girls singing about three country girls’ lives. I’m looking forward to getting back in the studio with them. That will be our focus after the summer tour.”

Two of my favorite singers in the whole world teamed up in Colorado to perform Kelly’s current number one single What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger) and Miranda’s Gunpowder & Lead. The two were full of love and compliments for one another, and they had a blast on stage, check out the video!
